Job Description:
Primac’s talented team and advanced test equipment allow us to take on any vibration related machinery issue. This can range from basic machine condition assessments to advanced multi-channel rotor dynamic evaluations. This role’s focus is machinery health condition monitoring, primarily conducting vibration data collection as well as visual/audible surveys on rotating machinery. Employees have the potential to train and mentor in diverse technologies such as advanced resonance/natural frequency testing, modal/operating deflection shape (ODS) analysis, ultrasound analysis, and torsional testing and analysis.
Skills and Experience:
- Technically minded individual with the ability to read and interpret information and communicate your message with clarity and ease through technical reports
- Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Windows, MS Office Word/Excel, Outlook E-Mail, etc.

SENIOR CONDITION MONITORING SPECIALIST
Job Description:
This role works daily with staff & clients to ensure delivery of profitable, quality services and products.
When working as a technician on client projects the primary focus is to ensure the delivery of profitable, quality service in line with client needs, job requirements and HSE policies and best practices. On client sites this role works as a consulting Vibration Analyst and Condition Monitoring Specialist. This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive condition monitoring surveys including vibration data collection and analysis, performance analysis, ultrasonic lubrication survey and services, visual/audible surveys to evaluate and report on the running condition of machinery.
The primary purpose is to monitor equipment vibration, evaluating the running condition of machinery in a manner that is objective, scientific, accurate and repeatable. A further goal is to ensure rotating machinery is operated and maintained in a manner that optimizes lifespan, efficiency and operating costs.
Reports To: General Manager
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel required.
Responsibilities:

- Act as a liaison with internal and external clients, managers and employees to ensure effective communication, smooth project operations, streamline the closing of sales and ultimately bolster the Company’s reputation for timely and efficient delivery as well as exemplary customer service.
- Work with management to streamline existing procedures and systems to increase overall efficiency and productivity.
- Assist in the execution of work and use of Company resources on various projects ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness and successful completion of projects on-time and within budget.
- Complete condition monitoring surveys and vibration data collection routes, interpretation, analysis and high quality and user appropriate technical reporting on time and to standards.
- Perform condition monitoring and analysis on client critical machinery to ensure that all issues have a documented resolution and timely path forward.
- Support client operations in identifying root problem causes, and provide the proper recommendations to improve reliability, ensure a safe and reliable operation and facilitate ongoing improvement.
- Work with the Reliability, Maintenance and Condition Monitoring personnel to maximize service intervals while assuring reliable operation of rotating equipment and improve overall equipment efficiency.
- Perform diagnostics, balancing, alignment, torsional analysis and structural dynamics.
- Conduct complex projects which require the expert application of advanced knowledge in the field of Condition Monitoring.
- Effectively communicate with a diverse demographic from hourly employees to senior executives.
- Display and role-model a self starter attitude with the ability to identify and garner support for improvement activities related to reliability.
- Complete all job-related documentation in a timely manner and maintain accurate project and client records and information in the Company databases.
- Handle escalated Issues, diffuse problems and put forward solutions that are in the best interests of the company and client.
- Act as a professional company advocate.
- Maintain qualifications in vibration analysis as it relates to the power generation, pulp and paper, refining, and general manufacturing industries and as defined by ISO 18436-2 and CMVA Category 2.
- Aid in customer retention efforts including but not limited to customer tracking, follow-up, and delivery of consistent exemplary service.
- Strictly adhere to all safety requirements as dictated by industry standards, regional legislation and company policy.
- Travel on a regular basis to various locations throughout British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan and possibly the USA and further afield.
